Here is to the summer! And the new season

Finally I am on holiday. Seems a bit strange as Rovers are back after there summer break!

Just a wee note to say that the first paella and bovril of season 2013/14 has been sent off ready to appear in this weekend's match day programme.

Summer side dishes

First of all I would like to all those who have tasted Paella and Bovril during the past season. I would also like to thank all the volunteers who make the match day programme at Raith Rovers one of the best in the Scottish first division. I am going to fill the void that football has left with training for a triathlon and for the first time I will be keeping Paella and Bovril going over the summer with a few wee side dishes being posted over the closes season. I hope you will join me. In the mean time why don't you look thru some old editions.

lost and found in a riot.

Is it me or does it seem to be that when spring has sprung madness is not far behind, riots in my beloved city of Barcelona, last minute goals from left right and centre, men swimming with the boats of Cambridge and Oxford and clubs on the brink of something!  It is the time of year when the some games mean everything and other mean another Saturday not going round the shops (we will have plenty of that in the close season). The season has not been an easy one for Rovers and I for one know that the "at the death" goals have been saving us, and destroying my speakers thanks to the guys at Raith Rovers Abroad ! This wee serving up of "Paella and Bovril" come on the back of two draws and a home win. We won at home to Hamilton in a pretty terrible first half, but more than made up for it with a pretty spectacular (well so it sounded with a pretty long gggggooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllll from the commentary team) second half. Formulaic fun

The festive season is creeping up on us and there feels like no escape. We can only hope that the weather is kind to the Scottish football grounds. A few weeks ago the topic came up "what would you change about the scottish game". This wee serving of Paella and Bovril gives you an idea of what I thought. What do you think? This was first seen in the Programme of the Scottish Cup tie with Deveronvale on Saturday 1st December. Raith went thru to the next round with a 2-1 win Paella and Bovril It seems that every 5 minutes somebody somewhere wants to sweeten the Scottish game it by changing it’s structure. Mix this division with that league, add a dash of grass roots, stir them about and voila! -the perfect cocktail of football. Well that is what they keep promising to serve up to us.
